Five levels of difficulty to improve a child's ability to scan a line of letters in a "left" to "right" direction and not lose his place. In these activities, the child is given a word, for example, YOU. He must then quickly start to the top left line and find the first Y he can find, then the first O after the Y and then the first U after the O. If he doesn’t skip any, he will make it to the end of the exercise. If he skips a letter, he will not find all the letters that spell the word.

Sample Instructions:

Have your child find the letters of the word YOU in the correct sequence and record their time. If the child did not find all the letters in the correct sequence, have them do it over until they can do the exercise correctly. The goal is to for the child to improve their time as they advance through each level.
